Well, well, well, don't you clean up nicely? After a week of self-care, you’re shining like the top of the Chrysler building. Like an egg-wash, if only we could find eggs.

By now, we've braved the grocery store enough times to know what a smile beneath a mask looks like—the eyes crinkle a bit. There's comfort there. And still, it's like nothing we've seen before (and we hope, never again).

Back to you, dear home. One of the many things we love about you is your commitment to the things you own—none too precious, all hard-working, most with a story. Sure, they wear and tear, they patina, and that’s the best part. The thing is, they do so with elegance, because you use them hard and you take care of them harder.

Make it Beautiful
Those flatware marks on your Heathware—they're on the surface, not underneath. Phew! Ceramics are stronger than a flatware's metal, which can cause utensils to leave superficial residue on your tableware. The solution: a hand wash with the best tools around. To remove or minimize flatware marks, we generally recommend a non-abrasive, pH-neutral cleaning product like Mrs. Meyer’s Baking Soda Cream Cleaner. For our Redwood glaze and vintage Heath dinnerware, we recommend a gentler product such as SoftScrub®. See all our dinnerware care instructions.
Make it Better
Heath is dishwasher safe. With that, know this: avoid high heat and high acid. Our glazes like natural detergents (our environment, too). To prevent glaze breakdown, use low-acid brands like: Planet Dishwashing, Seventh Generation, etc. When in doubt, choose your washer's gentle cycle. Some cycles are just too hot to handle—cracking can occur. In the end, Heath is very durable. We're showing caution.
Make it Last
While we're on the topic of conditioners (we weren't on that topic!), some advice for those non-Heath items you love: cutting boards and cast iron—they work hard for you and sure appreciate conditioner now and again. Extend lives. Care for your things. Also, bask in their patina.

Make It Honest
Honestly, beans in quarantine—they last, they fill, and they look good. You can hide dry goods away in the pantry or stack them sculpturally on the counter-top for all to enjoy. Heck, we use Weck, check!
