When glazed-by-hand meets the natural elements of clay and glaze, organic beauty ensues. This is the hallmark of Heath glaze. What’s more, temperatures within a kiln can vary from spot to spot. Your dinnerware is impacted by who loads the kiln, what’s loaded, and where each piece is placed. The end result is never exact. Rather, always one of a kind and always beautiful!

Some pieces (though not all) have our signature wiped edge: a design tradition that honors the raw clay material we source. The foot of each piece is wiped free of glaze prior to firing, which prevents fusing to the kiln shelf. (Because, what good would they be then?)
