Heath Clay Studio + Julian Watts
Handcrafted and harmonious—part sculpture, part container—displaying the relationship between artists and their materials. We’re thrilled to present this stunning collaboration by Heath Clay Studio and artist Julian Watts.
The collection, just eighteen one-of-a-kind pieces, honors objects that float between utilitarian and art, with the Clay Studio vessels serving as something of a stage for Julian's woodwork. The starkness and contrast between the black lid, its thickness significant, and the white base, became a key point in the conception of this project. Mixed mediums, each highlighted uniquely—a wiped rim and subtle glaze, exposed grain and variating carving—reflects the spectacular beauty of both material and process.
A one-time collaboration yields beauty in form and function. Available at Heath SF or by calling the showroom directly (415) 361-5552.
